Summary

I’m Retiring My Old Podcast Newsletter – And Here’s Why. After 10+ years of writing weekly episode recaps, it started feeling like a chore… and if I wasn’t loving it, I know you weren’t either. In this bonus episode, I’m sharing what’s replacing it: a fresh, personal newsletter that feels like a note from a friend. Think behind-the-scenes stories, lessons I’m learning in real-time, and juicy convos from group chats and Slack threads. If you’re craving more connection, realness, and insight into what’s actually working in online business, this newsletter is for you. Hey there, welcome to the Amy Porterfield Show.

In tomorrow's email, I'm going to tell you a story of how I recently overheard

0:17.0

Hobie talking to our therapist about me and not in the most positive way.

0:24.1

Even telling you that makes me sweat a little bit.

0:29.6

I have to admit that I hate telling you when things aren't working out for me because I feel

0:35.3

as though I'm supposed to be an online marketing expert and

0:39.4

for many of you, a mentor and a guide. And so it's just kind of embarrassing to say, like,

0:44.9

I've been doing this for a while. It's not working anymore. I need to change it. But essentially,

0:49.6

that's what this episode is about. And also, I don't think I'd be a good guide or a good

0:54.4

mentor if all I ever shared with you was the good stuff, right? So today I'm sharing with

0:59.4

you something that has not been working for me. So we need to talk about something I've been

1:04.4

doing for a very long time and why I'm about to shut it down. So for over about 10 years, every single week, I've sent out a

1:14.6

podcast newsletter. So that email told you what was on the podcast that week, gave you a little

1:20.3

context, a little quick teaser, and a link to click. And it worked. It did exactly what I needed

1:27.3

it to do for years. Like clockwork,

1:30.6

if I skipped a week, which I rarely did, but let's say I had a promo going on so I had to skip

1:35.6

the weekly newsletter, my downloads on my podcast would dip. Like it was the gentle nudge that

1:41.6

reminded my community, hey, there's a new podcast, and you're going to want to hear it.

1:46.6

But recently, something has shifted.

1:49.3

I've noticed that writing those emails, it started to feel like a drain.

1:54.2

Like the spark, it just wasn't there anymore.

1:57.4

I lost the energy and the fun of even sharing new episodes. And if I'm being really honest,
