When we watch this trial, it is the accumulation of events of a massive fraud perpetrated

on the American people by Donald Trump, by the Trump family, by the Trump organization.

The lying is so pervasive, so constant that it's inescapable. And it has caused havoc in our country,

in our society, and in our democracy. It is the 24th of April, and there are 195 days left

until the American presidential election, which will decide the destiny of the 248-year-old

Republic born on July 4th of 1776.

One of the founders of the American Republic was President John Adams, and there is a quote of his that is inscribed on the mantle

of the fireplace in the state dining room. Now, Donald Trump once referenced that quote.

Let me put it on the screen for you. I pray heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house

and all that shall hereafter inhabit it. May none but honest and wise men ever rule under this

roof. Now, Donald Trump talked about that quote while at a White House prayer breakfast in the

state dining room.

Incredibly, he dropped the second half of the quote. He just talked about how great the house

was. He dropped completely the notion about honest and wise men. When Donald Trump addressed that

audience that day from that room, he was three years into the

worst presidency in American history. His serial lying, his incompetence, his bluster, his insanity

at that hour had cost hundreds of thousands of Americans their lives because of the incompetency

of his COVID response. There is no question that the Republican nominee who will be his party

standard bearer for the third consecutive election is the most dishonest president in American history.

He is the most prolific liar ever to take the oath prescribed in the Constitution

to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.
