Summary

Around 1983, tonight’s guest, David Blalack, was abducted from his home in Trinity County, California. He was 12 or 13 at the time and is 53 now. Even though so much time has passed, since he was abducted, he can still remember it like it was yesterday. You’d think, after having such a profound experience, at such a young age, he would have been traumatized by it. He wasn’t, however. 0:00.0	My name is David Blaylack. I grew up in Northern California. I'm one of six kids in our family,
0:10.0	and I'm the second to the youngest. And currently I'm almost 54 years old. And when I was around 12 years old, I had a very eye-opening experience.
0:24.2	It could have been scary, but in my experience, it really wasn't.
0:28.8	But I'll just go ahead and get right into what happened there.
0:33.7	And so probably I'm trying to guess this must have been around 1983 or something like that.
0:42.1	I don't know my exact age when this happened, but I do know I was around 12 or 13 years old.
0:49.3	We lived in a place in Trinity County, California, near Trinity Lake, and it was a single wide mobile home,
0:58.8	and it was this one road that just wound up the side of this mountain, and there was some sporadic
1:05.0	properties here and there on that, and ours was kind of towards the bottom of that that mountainside road we did have a few neighbors
1:14.5	below us several hundred yards away was the closest one and the next one was about a quarter mile away
1:21.4	but very woodsy and pretty wild country and grew up in my mind I grew up there even though I only lived
1:31.6	there really like eight seven or eight years or something like that but it was my childhood memories
1:39.6	pretty much all go to there that was my my favorite spot. So the story happened. I was
1:47.7	sleeping on a high to bed couch. Me and my younger brother both slept in the living room on
1:53.9	this high to bed couch in a single wide mobile home. And my two sisters slept in the first bedroom in the hallway and then as you go up the hallway
2:04.8	then there was the bathroom and then there was a washer and dryer little area and then my mom
2:09.5	dad's bedroom was the back bedroom in this mobile home and I had been awakened during the night it was just sometime in the middle of the night.
2:20.8	I don't know what time it was, but I had felt like I had been, I had been being choked.
2:29.6	And so, like, literally when I woke up, if there was pressure on my neck, and so it kind of scared me.
2:38.4	So I got up and walked down the hallway to my mom-dad's room.
2:42.4	And when I walked in, I closed the door behind me, and I walked up to my mom's side.
2:50.0	My mom slept on the left side of the bed and my dad slept on the right side.
