My spouse and I back in July of 2021, we purchased an investment property and we put a $100,000

0:14.4

deposit down and that was when the COVID interest rates had gone right down. And in Canada, they're right back up. I don't know how it is

0:22.9

in the States, but we're looking at our closing date coming up in two months, and we don't know if we

0:29.9

can afford this. Was the financing already approved? No. So we did down with our bank, and essentially, I think if we sold our current home, we would

0:43.5

be able to get the mortgage.

0:46.9

But my predicament is that even if we do get approved for a mortgage, we're looking

0:51.5

at a $5,000 plus mortgage per month. And we've been

1:09.3

1:19.4

We bought it really low.

1:20.6

And then when we sold, we had actually gone a lot of equity and paid off that line of credit

1:25.0

that we used to put the deposit down on that home.

1:28.8

And I just don't know if it's worth it to jeopardize and try and push this mortgage through.

1:34.8

Also, my spouse is military, so he's currently posted to where we are.

1:39.5

And I don't even know how the moving procurement would work.

1:43.3

So have you guys been building for that long?

1:46.2

Yeah, the builder was very delayed.

1:48.3

Through COVID, they stopped a lot of the building, and it's been ongoing for a long time.

1:53.4

Okay. Was it a custom build, or was it one that was within a development, and you pick a floor plan kind of thing?
