Next time on Dear Alice, I will say the ideal shade is a natural linen, like probably more

off-white or bone-colored linen. That's more beautiful than a natural paper shade.

Because the paper shades get burnt, they kind of get hot spots over years.

And they just color.

Yeah, it's just not a long, it's not a long lasting answer and if you're paying a lot for

a lamp it's frustrating to have the shade start to show those warm spots on it and then the white

shade, the fabric shades that are optic white are also not desirable. So it's a tricky thing and

then you can get into custom shades which may or may yeah they totally fun. I wish I

know a good online resource so that everybody could use the same one.

We use a place in Salt Lake City called the LAMP Store. Lamp Company, yeah.

And they make custom shades for us and you guys might have those resources I'm sure in your area and

that's a fun way if you've got a client that really wants a designer something

like zero to 60 yeah totally really fun trick so I guess if you did get that white lamp shade I don't I don't have any

tricks to tell you to warm it up. But maybe you might like the shape and so find a lamp place in your area or I'm sure you could

like doing it. We probably just haven't googled it enough. I'm sure you could like doing it. We probably just haven't

Definitely take that with you because they do want the shape. They might even be able to

use that kind of plastic. Yeah, the same frame and then just re-epholster it. Yeah, I did that with my sconces. Oh, sure you did.

So, yeah. They use the same shade, but then they just covered it with a fabric. If you don't mind sharing with the people,

what did a custom sconce shade cost to you?

Oh I repressed that I don't even know you repressed it. I remember because we built one when we were

we were designing the stellar pendants and so we had a shade built that we wanted to send so they can yeah replicate that was it was like 120 dollars but that's a big shade.
