Hello and welcome to the very first episode of our new show here on the Bible Binge.

A kid you're not growing a child's faith when you're a grown-up without all the answers.

I'm your host and resident Bible scholar Aaron Moon and I am thrilled to introduce you to the newest member of the Bible Binge Meredith Amiller.

Like I'm trying to bottle up my squeals because that's bad audio but I am so excited that your face is like in front of my face right now.

I'm very excited as well and I'm like trying not to talk over you because as you say that I'm like yes and I'm so excited to be here.

Oh we talk one at a time on podcast.

That's not a time Meredith it's fine we sometimes ignore that podcasting mandate here at the college so you're in great company.

Now some of you don't know Meredith you listen you are going to fall madly in love with her.

Who am I maybe you don't know why the Bible Binge a show where we once talked for 45 minutes about the gruesome way that King Herod died is doing a show centered around kids like I think that's important to talk about.

If you wonder that we understand and we understand we understand so he died in a bad way so it merits conversation I think.

And then like you know who are these episodes for what these episodes are going to sound like and just kind of the heart behind them.

I really really highly recommend you go listen to that primer episode and then come back and we'll get started so um Meredith are you are you ready to jump in.

I'm ready let's do it so today we are actually looking at Genesis one and the story of creation.

So God created the like the day and then he created like night then he created animals then he created Adam then he needed a helper for Adam.

So he created Eve he created the morning because so it could be like light for the um for like so people could um do stuff and he created night so people could and animals can like sleep.

And he created the ocean so people could get water and animals can get water. Um. Graph. So animals could eat and God said it was all very good.

Okay so we're starting off in our a segment what's the story creation Genesis one in these episodes Meredith and I are going to kind of walk through each

of the age groups um and kind of and and I think I think you mentioned this and I think it's kind of important to keep in mind that

not every kid is going to fit squarely into their age group box right certainly not know there is this broad sense that you have sort of young preschool aged kiddos two to four.

You often have then young elementary kids five to eight and then you have sort of late elementary kids where there's still kids.

In a lot of ways but they're developmentally just a lot further along and then you get into early adolescence and mid adolescence and every one of those stages is not defined by like the number age of a child there's sort of just a development that has to do a lot with their personality and the culture you're in in your context and so these are broad brushstroke buckets.
