I have discovered a new level of dreaming.

I hope no one else has the pleasure of discovering themselves.

Before I go on some spill, let me start from the beginning.

Fair warning, I can't tell you why it happened only when it started.

My name is Adam.

I've always had lucid dreams for as long as I can remember.

Whenever I dreamed, I had complete control over anything and everything that happened.

If I had ever had a nightmare, I could turn it into a dream where I'm a badass monster hunter.

Something peaceful or funny.

If I were to fly around with skyscrapers, do whatever else I couldn't do in real life.

I always thought I was experiencing the most complex level of dreaming possible.

That wasn't until the day my coworker John told me he experienced astral projection as a kid.

John isn't someone I consider to be a friend.

But he's decent enough. We had a few things in common.

We're both in our early 20s. We're in the same department.

I tend to pay off our student loans.

The biggest thing that I couldn't stand about John was how boring it was.

Over the past six months we'd worked together, I'd had to listen to every mundane detail about his life.

I could barely keep myself awake during my eight hour shift,

listening to one of John's stories could cure any one of their insomnia.

But one day, one day he finally said something that had peaked my interest.
