Hello, my friends. Welcome back. I am glad you're with me for the morning mindset. It's

time for you and for me to get our minds aligned with the truth of God. And if you are listening

in someplace besides the United States of America, I want to welcome you. I want to welcome

you to the morning mindset. I was just looking at the map today. We have people listening

in Lithuania, in Russia, in Poland, in Slovakia, in Hungary, in Romania, in Moldova, in Bulgaria

and Ukraine. We have people listening all over the globe and that part of the world in particular

is really a hotbed of contention right now. We are praying for peace. We are praying for

you, brothers and sisters in Christ. Please know that. We are praying for you, for God's

blessing and peace and endurance to be yours. All right. Today we continue our study in these

truths that God has revealed to us about who we are in Jesus Christ. Now that may be strange

phraseology to you to think in terms of who you are in Jesus. What it means is who you are because

of what Jesus has done on your behalf. You see, when he died on the cross, we all kind of easily

think Jesus died on my behalf for the sake of forgiving my sin. But do we realize he died on our

behalf to do more than just that? He died on our behalf to give us a new person, a new identity,

a new sense of being about who we are. And yesterday we looked at 2nd Timothy, chapter 1,

verses 6 through 7, and we looked at the fact that we do not have a spirit of fear. We now

are fear less in Jesus Christ. That's part of our identity. But there's a couple of other things

here that I want to focus in on today and tomorrow. And the next one that the Apostle Paul mentions

here is that we are powerful in Jesus. Look at verse 7. He says, for God gave us, okay, so

picture this, God is handing us something. He's handing us a gift. Let's think of it that way,

for us to unwrap and discover what's inside of it. God gave us a spirit, not of fear,

but of power, and love, and self-control. So in the way that this is worded, those three things
