mind aligned with the truth of God for this day? Let's not think about tomorrow or the

day to follow. Let's think about today. Take a deep breath, set aside the cares and

worries and the concerns that you have about the day. And take a moment to align yourself

with God in His agenda, His purposes for this day. In just a moment, we're going to dig

into some truths about your identity in Christ. These are vital things we need to know about

who God says we are. But before we get there, I just want to bring through attention

experiencing right now. All right, let's talk about this issue of identity. And today,

I want you to know that as a believer in Jesus Christ, one who's united with Jesus,

you are assured. Now, that sounds like a strange statement just to leave it like that.

You are assured. It kind of begs a question, right? You're assured of what exactly?

Well, let's read Romans 8.28. And I think you'll understand why I'm stopping my phrase

after the word assured and saying you are assured. Romans 8.28 says, and we know that

for those who love God, all things work together for good. For those who are called according

to his purpose. Okay, so stop for a moment. And for me, it's sometimes a very helpful exercise

to imagine the worst of the worst of the worst scenario and press it into a truth like

this to help myself understand the scope of what's being said. So let's imagine the worst

scenario. You have cancer. Your child is abducted. You're in the middle of a war. Whatever
