Summary

I actually had a hard time coming around on this topic but, in the end, the Bible constrained me to change my view on alcohol. The difference between me and the progressives we are responding to is that my mind was changed by the Bible and I get the impression that they would believe whatever they want whether the Bible said it or not. 0:00 intro 0:18 to SKIP intro This clip is from a recent interview I did on Alisa Childers' channel. I took that interview and broke it down into topical videos dealing with the 23 different claims made by the "progressive Christian" Ragamuffin TV. You'll see a new video EVERY DAY until the whole series is uploaded. Here's a link where you can see EVERY video in this series (as they go up) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZ3iRMLYFlHstu7p_vncGknpVhWp9uxc1 Here are the links to the long form interviews which are on Alisa's channel Part 1 https://youtu.be/wVLLuyN-Ezo Part 2 https://youtu.be/CoBW3LY8xiw

You're watching one of a series of videos where Elisa Childers and I respond to 23 progressive

0:05.9

Christian claims, kind of like a progressive Christian manifesto that was written by Ragamuff

0:10.9

and TV. We deal with these claims, some good, some bad, some ugly, and I'm hoping that this

0:16.8

helps you to think biblically. Okay, which leads us to number 21. This is the one you recently did

0:22.2

a kind of a deep dive study on and put your findings out on a video series on YouTube. And so 21

0:28.8

is it's not a sin to drink. So ironically, I actually did this video a while back, but suddenly

0:37.0

recently YouTube was like, we're going to promote that video and it just suddenly got tons of

0:41.3

views. I don't know where. But yeah, drinking, this was hard for me to do. Okay, there is alcoholism

0:48.3

in my family and growing up. I basically, I don't drink even today. Okay, I don't drink. I have

0:54.6

a conviction about, I just can't do it. But when I did a real study of scripture to ask this

1:00.6

question, I not only saw that it was permissible to drink, but I saw that drinking, and I'm being

1:07.3

as honest as I can here, that drinking is a positive thing which God has given mankind to enjoy.

1:14.3

And that was not in line with what I was, what I always hear pastors teach in my, in my

1:21.2

circles. And yet it is what scripture teaches. scripture teaches that it's a positive thing

1:26.0

to enjoy, but it also then goes on. That's not the, some people want to stop like that's the whole

1:29.5

story. It then goes on to warn extreme warnings against the dangers of alcohol. And it's overuse

1:37.5

of alcohol, either in drunkenness or in regular habitual drunkenness, that this is a horrible thing.

1:43.7

It's destructive to lives. It's destructive to families. So it's not a sin to drink if you do so

1:49.3

in true moderation, right, where you're not, you're not getting drunk ever. So I think that the people

1:57.1

that are the abstinence people need to move over to thinking, okay, drinking can be acceptable and

2:01.3

can be done until the glory of God. And then the people that are already there, they need to be where

2:06.5

that they're not making excuses for drunkenness or for irreverent behaviors. And so yeah, the whole
