When I was a kid, there were people in my family that used to laugh at what, how, how predictable

it was what I was going to be for Halloween.

My father was a police officer and all I wanted to be during Halloween year after year,

after year was a cop.

I wanted to be a police officer.

I had no doubt in my mind when I was a little kid I was going to grow up and I was going

to be a police officer.

I thought it was incredible.

The idea of going out there and getting the bad guys, protecting and serving, putting

your life on the line to protect your fellow man.

Year after year, Halloween after Halloween, my parents just laughed like there was no even

discussion about what I was going to be.

It was just I got to wear my dad's badge.

They made a little shirt with real patches on it that looked like my dad's uniform.

I wanted to be my dad.

My goal was to be a police officer.

My backup was to be a fighter pilot because of Top Gun the movie.

Those were my goals in life.

That was it.

Now, I wasn't the only one as a young person that wanted to be a police officer.

All of my friends wanted to be what?

Policeman, fireman.
