I'm Matt Tully, and today I'm talking with Kristen Getty. Kristen is an award-winning singer and songwriter, and she and her husband Keith are well-known

around the world for hymns such as in Christ alone and the power of the cross.

Originally from Northern Ireland, Kristen and her husband currently live in Nashville,

Tennessee with their four daughters. Kristen recently partnered with Crossway to produce a brand

new audio recording of the entire Book of Psalms and is currently working on a recording of the

whole Bible set to be released in the summer of 2021.

Today, Kristen and I discussed congregational singing, the power of music for teaching doctrine,

and the foundational role of scripture for the Christian life.

She reflects on her career in the Christian music industry, explains why hymns still matter and are worth learning today, and shares how her family has been seeking to use music to serve others during this season of lockdown.
