That's what we're trying to do, make the theology sing, because it's not enough just to look

at a truth and note it, but have it lodge in our hearts and reorient things and come out

of our mouths as praise.

Matt Boswell is an author, a hymn writer, the lead pastor of the Trails Church in North Texas,

and the president of doxology and theology.

Matt Papa is a singer, a hymn writer, an author, and a worship leader, and they both together

contributed many hymns in the Sing hymnal, which is now available. Matt and Matt, thank you so much for joining me today on the Crossplay podcast. It's an honor to be here. Thanks for having us. So we've got three mats in the room together. Super Matt. Yeah, the Super Matt. How are we going to keep everyone straight? That's my first question. Well, in Getty World, we're called by our surnames. Papa, Boz. Yeah, Papa Boz. Yeah. Okay, so I can call you Boz and I can call you Papa, I guess. Sure, sure. All right. Or we could just call each other Matt the entire time. Yeah, or we could just say Matt and no one will know who's going to talk next. That's right. That's right. That sounds like. So maybe we just start off, uh, Baz. Could you share a little bit about

yourself? What are you doing these days? Uh, where do you live? What's your family like?

I serve as the pastor of the Trails Church in Salina, Texas, and also as an associate professor at

Southern Seminary. And I'm a hymn writer,

and married to Jamie, we'll be celebrating 20 years,

and we have four children, and life is wonderfully full.

Yeah, what are the ages of your kids?

Right now, 18 down to 12. Okay 12 okay awesome so we've just launched our first

into college and so yeah wow transition in the life of our family yeah all right matt papa

how about hello um i am married i have five children uh so one more than boss um And we live in South Florida and I write music and write

songs. So you've both written a lot of hymns and many hymns together. You kind of seem like the
