This week, we have to start with a brief mention of one of the biggest true crime stories

that's happening right now, the arrest of a man suspected to be the Long Island serial

killer.

Last week, police arrested 59-year-old Rex Hewerman and charged him with three counts

of first-degree murder and three counts of second-degree murders in the deaths of Megan

Waterman, Amber Costello, and Melissa Bethellamy.

What's more, he is also a prime suspect in the death of another woman, Marine Brain

Art Barnes.

Previously, Rex Hewerman was best known as a husband, father of two, and prominent architect

whose firm had been involved in more than 300 projects across New York City.

Now, he's better known as the Long Island serial killer.

Now, this is a case that as true crime fans, you have almost assuredly heard a significant

amount of coverage around, I mean, even before I was necessarily interested in true crime,

I watched the owner of SVU and they had an episode a long time ago about this case.

It is fairly remarkable and also a testament to good old-fashioned police work that they

have been able to make an arrest.

One siding of a car led to DMV record searches which led to monitoring, which led to a pizza

crust which matched the DNA.
