Well, would you turn with us this evening to 1 Corinthians, the 12th chapter, 1 Corinthians

We've been on this for some weeks, and I think we're nearing the completion of this series,

but I certainly don't want us to forget about it anytime soon.

This is important, and I'm stirred up about it, and I'm going to keep forget about it anytime soon. This is important.

And I'm stirred up about it.

I'm going to keep talking about it even if we're teaching on other subjects and other areas.

You don't be surprised if you keep hearing references to this.

First Corinthians 12, are you there?

In the last verse, 1 Corinthians 12, you there and the last verse 1 Corinthians 12 31 says but covet earnestly the best gifts

and yet show I unto you a more excellent wayvet earnestly the best gifts.

Covet earnestly.

Normally when you see the word covet in the scriptures, it's telling you don't.

Don't covet this.

Don't covet that.

But here he says, do.

Covet these things.

Covet what?

What gifts?

Well, this is the end of the 12th chapter.

If you back up to the beginning and read through, he refers to the gifts of the spirit.

And he mentions nine specific gifts are manifestations of the Holy Spirit.
