Summary

As you're well aware, we live in some very chaotic times of doubt, fear, uncertainty, speculation, and distrust. Unfortunately, times like these lead to irresponsible and overly-emotional reactions which often undermine our very goals and desires.

Today, I am joined by a friend of mine, Humble the Poet to talk about how to keep calm, cool, and collected when faced with the uncertainties of life. We discuss how to self-regulate, the ability to communicate complex ideas simply, becoming a student of the game of life, affording others grace, why fear is unsustainable, and keeping yourself levelheaded in turbulent times.

HUMBLE THE POET

My guest today is the interesting and unique, Humble the Poet. I had the opportunity to meet Humble when our mutual friend, Steve Weatherford, invited us on a Wim Hof retreat and I was immediately drawn to his collected demeanor and fascinating way of looking at life.

He is a former school teacher turned creative. He's an author, hip-hop artist, speaker, designer, filmmaker, and a creative consultant for some incredible businesses and movements, including Apple, Warner Bros, and Nike.

I think you guys are going to be drawn to Humble as I was. And, I was really grateful we had the opportunity to discuss these topics as he caused me to look at things in a way I hadn't recognized before.

IMPOSTER SYNDROME

Imposter syndrome – the sense of feeling inferior, inadequate, and unworthy of a particular pursuit – is something that a lot of men deal with. In many ways, I personally dealt with Imposter Syndrome as I started this movement six years ago.

This month, inside of our exclusive brotherhood, the Iron Council, this is exactly what we're talking about and working to overcome. We've been discussing the concept, strategies, and tactics for overcoming feeling like a fraud, and actively working on bridging the gap between who we currently are and who we have a desire to become.

If this is something that you've dealt with, even to a small degree, I invite you to join the conversation, action, and accountability found inside the Iron Council so that you can overcome feeling like a fake and producing less in your life than you're capable of.
