A family's boat caught on fire off the Cape and had to swim to an island.

The family did.

Yeah.

And spent two.

No, we're just chuckling.

And had to spend two nights on the island before being rescued.

Uh-huh.

The Coast Guard says the family of three was rescued yesterday morning. All three were seriously injured and they are investigating what happened with the fire. It seems like it was an electrical issue on the boat. Okay. I need a little more, like more information on this. So family went out. Yeah. When did they go out on their boat? So they were rescued yesterday, Monday.

Okay, so went out and then the thing caught on fire and there was luckily an island or like an uninhabited island nearby?

There looks like there is a house on the island, but it doesn't look like there's much.

But got rescued two nights later.

We can hear from a hyannis deputy fire chief, Jeff Lamoth, on WHDH. Apparently, the Coast Guard got a call for a boat overdue. They went out looking for it. They didn't find anything overnight. And then the next morning, they got a call about these people on the island. You never know what to get down to the water, so make sure you've got all your life-saving equipment and your dress for the weather. Holy cow. Did they eat each other? Nope. They all survived. What do they do for food while they were there? Four-inch through the bushes? Yeah. Two days I think you can survive off food. I speak for yourself.
