We'll begin with a BU shuttle bus that was covered in foam after the driver reportedly smelled a smoky smell.

Ah.

While transporting people, passengers, the thing caught on fire.

Well, there was smoke, but there was no fire.

Okay.

A busy Boston roadway was shut down after a smoke investigation on a shuttle bus on Thursday.

Around 4 p.m. fire crews responded to that area of Mass Ave at Tremont Street where a Boston University bus was pulled over because the driver smelled smoke.

According to BU, the shuttle bus was out of service coming from Braintree to Boston and was scheduled to be put in for service later in the day.

A BU spokesperson says the smoke was caused from the hybrid bus battery, but the bus never

caught fire. Okay. We can hear from one witness from WHDH. Just like billowing white smoke out of the top.

They had like two guys out there with hoses and they were hitting the top of the truck the top of the bus

pretty well smell was pretty bad um when i was coming back in so had like a chemically smell first

thing i saw was no one was on the bus when i got close to it um looked like an empty bus so definitely

that's good this happens from time to time with the hybrids where they just burst into flames.

But you are saving the planet when you drive one.

So I guess we're at the risk.
