It is Patriots Friday, and let me get to my lead.

I, like the rest of you, cannot wait for this football game.

If you had told me in August that this football team would have the opportunity to win the AFC East with a regular season win in December,

I would have asked if you had been out drinking with

the South Boston Moms Club.

So it is extraordinary that we are in this position.

$20, 10-ounce martini.

Let me just get ahead of this right now.

The South Boston Moms Club does great work in the community.

Oh, okay. And that was right. They give back and raise money. I said that yesterday.

Oh, is there an issue or something? Well, there was a little bit of a reaction in the region.

Coconut margaritas injected into my veins. I would never have to play those drops. I meant no offense. I love all of them.

They seem like nice ladies.

Like they turn up. They seem like they turn up and turn out. And to Greg's credit, he has a lot of friends that attend those events. So like he, you can kind of poke fun. I was just having fun. I meant no offense. But anyway, this team does not require any bulletin board material, but

maybe we do as fans. So a reminder from me today that those who are in the sports media

oftentimes know not much more than you do.

They watch the games the same as you do,

and then oftentimes feel the need to say absolutely outrageous things so as to get attention and or clicks and such.

And so thought it worthwhile real quick to revisit something that Stephen A. Smith said,

which is not aging well, as the kids say.

And at the point that the New England Patriots signed, Steph Diggs,

Mr. Smith was asking a question about the choice that Steph Diggs made when it came to quarterbacks that he would play with. Here is that audio for you this morning. I mean, I just think there's a legitimate question to ask. Because no matter what you are as a receiver, it don't mean a damn thing if the quarterback can't get you to football. And I understand. I'm not sitting up there throwing that kind of shade on Drake May like the brother can't play. That's not what I'm implying here.
