July. Thanks to you, as I speak, July isn't even over and we've had 50,000 downloads for the Orvis Fly Fishing Guide podcast.

but 50,000 downloads, wow, that's, as I said, very flattering and very

impressive. This week, let's talk about fishing and the weather and I've had a number of requests over the past couple

months about for a podcast on how weather affects fishing and let's talk about

let's talk about trout fishing for this podcast in particular Ben Croce and

Ektora Villarde and Radline. I think Josh is the guy that was listening to the

podcast while he was mowing his lawn. Anyway, they in particular asked about the effects of the weather on trout fishing and

bear in mind that anything that I say here is pure conjecture and it's really empirical evidence.

We don't have any proof of how the weather affects trout fishing and there are certainly no hard and fast rules.

This isn't something that scientists study very often because scientists tend to fish biologists and fisheries managers tend to study things that they can then utilize in fisheries management and analyzing and studying how weather affects fishing success really doesn't really doesn't have many management implications because let's face it we're going to go fishing when we get the time.
