I hope you're having a wonderful holiday because for me, you know, the New Year celebration

lasts a little bit more than just one day.

It's about a week to 10 days.

Because that's how long it takes to recover for what the hell happened one New Year's

Eve.

But that's a whole another conversation.

We are starting off the New Year in the classroom.

I think it's important for folks to get the education on and understand exactly what's

standing in front of them, understand exactly what's happening around them and obtain a little

perspective.

I think a lot of times Americans lose perspective on things and not really understand the

nitty-gritty.

Well, we've got someone to help break it down for us.

She is an accomplished and incomparable individual.

She is the Charles Howard Candler Professor of African American Studies at Emory University
