Hello and welcome to The Week Junior show. I'm Bex and I'm joined by writers Eve and Joe

from the Week Junior, the magazine Making Sense of the World for 8 to 14-year-olds.

Now, in a week where the UK government announced that 500,000 extra pupils in England

would get three school meals and the World Crazy Golf Championships took place,

we're going to be discussing some of the other stories, events and people that inspired

the Week Junior team. Make sure you're listening closely because at the end of this episode, we'll be asking a

But before all of that, Joe and Eve, there is something I'd like to talk to you about.

Next week on the 18th of June, it's National Thank a Teacher Day Day and it got me wondering, who was your favourite teacher when you were growing up? Joe, who was yours?

I'm not sure I really had a favourite teacher. It's quite a tricky question. I did have a thinking maybe a teacher called Miss Burns just because she taught me maths and I never really consider myself to be very good at maths, but I ended up getting pretty good grades at GCSE and A level.

She was also quite memorable as she kept pet snakes,

which I thought was cool as young.

I mean, I still think it's quite cool now.

I like snakes, so maybe that's why she stuck in my head.

Yeah, okay, Miss Ben, I can't believe he didn't lead with the snake thing first,

but okay, sure. Excellent math teaching. Eve, how about you? I'm also choosing a math teacher

because maths was probably my favourite subjects when I was at school, but she wasn't quite,
