0:00.0 | All right, this is part 60 in the Mark series and we're going to be in Mark chapter 14 verses 26 through 31. |
0:08.0 | We're dealing with the moments before the betrayal and crucifixion of Jesus. |
0:12.0 | These are very important things that the gospel of Mark is like is embedding in the text that the Holy Spirit has inspired the author to put there so that we will learn. |
0:20.0 | And I think the reason why I'm emphasizing this right now is I think that we sometimes read through these passages and we sort of skip over these things. |
0:26.0 | We read them with casual eyes and we miss a lot of the gems and the important truths that are there and the application that it brings into our lives. |
0:34.0 | So Mark 14, 26 through 31, we're going to look at prophetic connections to the book of Zechariah. |
0:39.0 | We're also going to be looking at why the failure of the disciples was important to include in Scripture. |
0:44.0 | Not only because there's lessons for us that we do need to learn about their failures and their failings because we're just like them. |
0:51.0 | But also it provides historical evidence for the truthfulness of the death and resurrection of Christ. |

1:33.0 | we want to just load the ideas of the passage in our heads. |
1:35.0 | We're gathering questions. We're just making observations. |
1:38.0 | You're just noticing what the text of the Scripture says. |
1:41.0 | Here it says, in when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives and Jesus said to them, |
