You as a Catholic, you don't have to answer that question by saying, well, that's what my religion

teaches. It's pursuit of truth.

Hi, everyone. Welcome back to the loopcast where we cover all things, faith, culture, and politics. Today, it's me, Erica, and Josh. Happy Sacred Heart Month. Another month is going on right now, and that's kind of the point. I feel like a lot of places have kind of either vaguely covered it. They don't really want to touch this subject. And obviously,

because we're kind of drowning in rainbow here, and I'm not talking about God's promise,

we thought this would be a good opportunity for us to discuss as a Catholic how you should be responding to pride. And there's prominent people within the church who have their own suggestions

as to handle that. As a very grassroots every man type podcast we have here, we're just practicing

Catholics that want to have a good approach. So I thought that this hypothetical might be a good

hypothetical to start the conversation. Let's say, for instance,

you have a well-meaning cousin or a friend that comes up to you, knows that you're Catholic,

and asks you, hey, Erica, hey, Josh, why are you not celebrating pride? Isn't that the Christian

thing to do?

Started off right there.

Erica, what would you say back to someone in that position? That's exactly what Father James Martin has posed in a couple of different articles for outreach over the years, that the sacred heart and pride go hand in hand.

And that's his hypothetical.

Or his argument is that, you know, the compassion

of the heart of Jesus means that we should be waving our rainbow flags and affirming people

in these lifestyles. And the problem, of course, is that it's in direct, the whole premise of

the pride celebrations this month with the rainbow trans flags that, I mean, there's so many colors now. It's more like tie-dye month. There's just the whole premise is based on a completely false understanding of sex, right? And LGBTQ is against our belief as Catholic. Now, you want to make a distinction,

right? You want to make the distinction between having homosexual attractions and tendencies

and actually acting on those, the behaviors that are associated them the problem is that the

LGBTQ agenda and movement that we're asked to go along with this month has

erased that distinction that the behaviors of sodomy and I'm you know sorry to get
