Summary
#334: You can’t manifest what you don’t protect. And if you’re still doing deals in DMs and hoping for the best… we need to talk.
In the last episode of the How to Get What You Want series, I’m joined by attorney and tech founder Kameron Monet to get into the parts of the process we don’t romanticize enough: the structure. The contracts. The negotiation. The uncomfortable emails. Because manifestation is cute — but protection is power.
Our conversation goes beyond vision boards and affirmations and into the tactical moves that actually secure the life you’re building. We talk about how to negotiate with conviction, what “perpetuity” really means (and why you should care), why you should never start work without a signed agreement, and how to stop leaving money on the table — whether you’re a creator or a corporate girl.
If you want more, you need the courage to ask for it and the infrastructure to keep it.
This episode is your reminder that getting what you want isn’t just about desire. It’s about protecting your hard work, discipline and clarity with the right education.
This episode is for you if…
- You’ve ever accepted an offer too quickly and regretted it later.
- You want more money, more opportunities and more ownership but don’t know where to start.
- You feel intimidated by negotiation and you want to overcome that.
- You don’t know what the “rule of three” is.
- You’ve worked without an agreement in place.
- You’re dipping your toes into the creator economy.
- You’re new to the world of corporate.
- You’ve signed contracts without fully understanding the terms.

| 1:30.5 | Like, we can manifest all day long. We can affirm and believe in ourselves all day long. But there are also real |
| 1:38.7 | tactical, structural things that we need to have in place to actually get what we want and be able to protect it and keep it. And that's what we're going to talk about today. So I would like to welcome, actually, a friend of mine, to the show who's going to give us the legality on getting exactly what we want. Cameron, welcome to the show. Thank you. I am so excited. And I love the legacy. Let's get into it. Listen, that's your, that's your word. That's what you do. That's what you're given us. What I give. Exactly. Okay. So before we get directly into the legality, I would like our audience to get to know you a little bit better. Hear a little bit more about your trajectory, getting into law. What made you want to specialize in working with creators? I love this question because it's very non-traditional. I talked to so many law students that want to get into the creator economy, whether they're creative in nature like I was. So taking it all the way back to childhood, I was theater kid. I loved being on stage. Fast forward to college. And of course, you've got to pick a major And at that point, honestly, I didn't know what I wanted to do. |
| 2:35.2 | And my lovely advisor, he was an attorney, and he was like, how about you try pre-law? And I was like, sir, I hate school. Why would I do that? He was like, you like to read, you like to write, and you're persuasive. That's all that it takes. And I was like, that's just like theater. So I tried to mock trial classes, fell in love with it, |
| 2:50.1 | and I decided to go to law school. |
| 2:51.4 | During this time, I also started my YouTube channel. |
