Top 3 Value Bombs:

1. There's so much power within video marketing itself. The second only to meeting somebody in person and having a conversation with them. You have a high level of connection on video. A picture is worth 1000 words, a video is worth a million.

2. You are either going to succeed or you're going to gain a learning lesson that's going to get you closer to success the next time with every test.

3. Be the king of your own castle, even if it's a smaller one to start instead of a knight on somebody else's.

And I'm going to share something that you believe about becoming successful that most people disagree with what's up fire nation and thank you so much again for having me on JLD I'm excited to be on here

1:48.0

And what I would say some people are going to disagree with but I really believe strongly is that you are in complete control as to whether you succeed or fail and the reason for that is there's really only two true types of failure the

2:03.0

Failure to give up right which is the ultimate failure or the failure to learn and if you listen to both of those you're in complete control

2:11.0

And that doesn't mean that mistakes won't happen and things will always go the way that you want them to go but what you should be looking for is in life always succeeding or learning from mistakes that you can use to grow but ultimately whether you succeed or fail is fully in your control

2:29.0

Now Eric I want to dive right into your story because a lot of our listeners fire nation are solar per newers are the beginning stages of what they're building and you went from solar per new or to an eight figure business owner how the heck did you do it?

2:45.0

Thank you so much. Yeah so it's definitely a really exciting exciting time as I was been able to scale up the business and I started out actually 13 years ago as a solar pranor recording videos on the iPhone it just came out so I was recording videos teaching people how to use their iPhone the best mobile apps tech tutorials

3:06.0

was my original business was app find so YouTube channel grew it to about half a million subscribers was really building it out myself and I remember going to college and I actually was making enough money from the YouTube channel sponsorships add revenue to to pay for college help pay for college and when I was there I started to really think about okay what can I build this bigger and when I read that it really opened my whole mind

3:34.0

to this kind of whole world of going beyond that solar pranor that you're talking about and actually building out a team and starting to automate some of the processes that I was already doing so within my YouTube channel I was able to hire other college students video editors script writers teach people how to do the business development the sponsorship sales and when I was able to do that all of a sudden I had my time back and my YouTube channel

4:01.0

it was actually it wasn't the four hour work week all of a sudden it was the hour work week which you know I'm sure I'm sure you know that was originally was meant to be the title of the book but it wasn't wouldn't be believable enough right I know Tim Ferris talked about that so I was able to do that with my YouTube channel so all of a sudden I had some time on my hands but it wasn't my goal just to create you know a four hour work week business and then you know kind of be more enjoy the lifestyle or kind of see the work that I was doing

4:30.0

I wanted to do that so I could build the next business and so one day when I was in college I had a particular app was a social media networking app and I had done a video on YouTube for the app they got a bunch of downloads this is great can you post the video again and I'd explain it's not really how it works you can't just post the same video the next day and expect to double the results on on an organic channel it's like posting the same podcast two times their hours you know people have already heard it people already

4:59.0

watch the video and so what I said was well what if we try YouTube ads this is about eight years ago and I ran YouTube ads for that video and in one week for $500 we get 11,000 users to sign up for their app so they're blown away and I realized that I have something and this is the point that I think a lot of entrepreneurs face where the company that hired me to do that they gave me a job offer opportunity they wanted me to fly out to Silicon Valley

5:28.0

I was still a college student the time I fly out there join their company six figure job offer you know vested stock options but I turned it down because I think like a lot of people listening I wanted to be the king of my own castle even if it's a smaller one to start then the night and somebody else's and so from there I started doing YouTube ads originally for mobile apps drove many downloads and scaled up to you know where it is today we're helping out businesses with YouTube ads and learning that I read and I was like, what do I do?

5:57.0

I'm learning that I really had a skill set that a lot of people needed and helping people train companies on how to use YouTube ads in their business the king of my castle instead of a nights and someone else's I love that phrase I love that visual and let's get down to brass tax because listen you grew your business over 6,000 and 52% to be precise over the past three years so let's fast forward a little bit how did you accomplish that feed of arms

6:26.0

it's been an incredible incredible growth journey and what ended up happening as I started to get into the world of YouTube ads is originally I was working with mobile apps I was doing more of an agency model and then it was the same thing as I started to discover the world of business what happened was I went to it's actually almost exactly
