On occasional Fridays, we talk with Dr. Don Carson about the themes that we see in biblical theology,

0:05.0

essentially the major themes that we see develop through our Bibles from Genesis to Revelation.

0:10.0

We covered the theme of Covenants last time, which is really important.

0:14.0

And in total, there's about 20 major themes that really make sense of the Bible for us.

0:18.7

And we have covered about half of them on the podcast,

0:21.7

half of them to go. On occasional Fridays, I call Dr. Carson as part of our relationship with our

0:25.7

friends at the Gospel Coalition. Carson is the co-founder and president of the Gospel Coalition

1:21.8

own bloodbought covenant people. And some promises that He gives to Israel. And some promises that

1:30.0

He gives to individuals, to a Davidic dynasty, for example. But one of the things that's

1:35.9

pretty obvious whenever you start tracking out the theme of promise is that it is tied to a lot

1:41.0

of things. Now, earlier on in this series, I said that one of the things that's remarkable about

1:45.3

biblical theology is that although one way of doing biblical theology is to track out particular

1:51.6

themes across Scripture, temple and creation and sin and priesthood and promise and sacrifice and
