I don't know about you but ever since becoming a mom I feel like my

guilty for feeling proud or I almost feel ashamed when I tell myself it's okay.

Yes, well, I am a mother, so maybe that's most relevant to your show.

I'm a mother of an autistic young man named Rowan, who's 22,

who's doing fabulously.

And so a lot of my self-compassion practice actually got honed,

I mean, so it's always difficult to be a mother is challenging, but you know, autism poses some special challenges.

Each kid is unique.

And so I would say my self-compassioned expertise comes primarily for my own personal life.
