Andy today we wrap up a conversation with a special guest.

Why don't you introduce him?

Yeah, Clay Scroggins has been on our staff for 11 years.

He started really working here when he was a college student at Georgia Tech and then went and got his graduate degree and then we would fly him in to help us from time to time.

Now he leads one of our largest campuses just north of the city.

And the reason he's here today is we had our all staff

meeting a few weeks ago and I got the stomach bug and along with most of

North Fulton County and so Joel Thomas called me he uh... campus here he said hey don't worry

about it we got covered we don't want to cancel the meeting

you stay home and uh... so he sat down clay and

clay had spoken on this topic in a different context.

So they cobbled some things together.

And it turned out to be an extraordinary talk.

And I sat on my couch thinking, wow, this really is the best

staff meeting we've ever had, and I not there and I had the joy of watching

it work without me.

And the thing that made this talk so great for our staff was the fact that Clay was giving it and

not me because it's entitled

leading when you're not in charge, leading when you're not in charge and it's

four big ideas as it relates to not being in charge and yet not advocating your responsibility to lead.
