Summary

Maturing spiritually and becoming more like Jesus should be every Christian’s goal. He is grace; we therefore need the Holy Spirit’s help in transforming us in our spiritual growth, because we cannot do it alone. Our starting point is a personal relationship with Christ; knowing Him results in gradually increasing levels of maturity. A practical understanding of growing in grace hinges on realizing that it happens over time. We must know what it means to receive it ourselves, so that we can give it to others; we can also use the times others hurt us to grow in grace and in forgiveness We grow spiritually by living our daily lives, coming into contact with others, and depending on God to teach us how to respond. It is vital that we make an impact on the world; growing in grace so that we can be more like Jesus enables us to do that.

1:07.0	spiritually and we started off talking about maturing in trouble and we've been talking about growing up all those kind of
1:16.3	things and one of the things the two things I want you to make sure you get a
1:20.2	whole of is number one you cannot do this on your own you are going to need God's help okay you're
1:28.0	gonna need the Holy Spirit you're gonna need the grace of God to help you and
1:32.3	then number two I want you to understand grace of God to help you.
1:32.8	And then number two, I want you to understand that this is something that as far as
1:40.0	spiritual maturity is concerned, Jesus is the benchmark. This is, how can I tell
1:46.4	if I'm maturing spiritually? Jesus is where we're headed to and we are to mature in the nature of Jesus Christ.
1:57.0	He's the standard for our maturity.
2:00.0	In other words, I am maturing in love, and I'm maturing in love until it reaches the love that Jesus has.
2:10.0	I'm maturing in forgiveness until it reaches the same forgiveness that Jesus has.
