0:46.4	thousand years in our history. Episodes will be about 10 to 15 minutes long, covering
0:52.1	what were the best bits from our past.
0:54.8	Assassinations, battles, mystery murders, scandals, wars and rebellions.
1:00.3	The first few shows give you a sense of what you can expect, so the opening episode of this week in Irish history looks at the execution of one of Ireland's most famous highwaymen in 1750.
1:12.0	Then in the second show we turn the clock back to 1649 and look at
1:16.4	Oliver Cromwell's Siege of Wexford. The third show focuses in on the first visit
1:22.1	of an English king to Ireland. This will take you all the way
1:25.2	back to 1171 when Royals turned up with a huge army and meant business. Then to finish off the first
1:32.2	month we will focus on the story of a hunger striker in
1:35.2	1920 during the Irish War of Independence. Each episode will be about 10 to 15 minutes long
1:41.5	so whether you want something to listen to on your coffee break or just to fall asleep to this podcast is for you
