This is an insight episode, where I share a few quick tips'm talking to people about putting their work out into the world is the fear of being criticized online.

So there's a couple of things to do that can help you with this.

Number one, it's going to happen.

It's no different to the playground at school.

Not everybody is going to like you, not everybody is going to get you.

And when you put your work out online, you open yourself up to everything.

But one of the things that I always say is we tend to be programmed as humans to

focus on the negative. So you might have 12 comments on a video or a blog post, and there might be

11 grateful comments, there might be 11 thankful comments. There'll be one that gets under your

skin perhaps or makes you question, I don't know if I even

want to do this anymore.

So first of all, notice the tendency that we all have to focus in on the negative and forget

about the positive.

With you putting your work out into the world, you have to try and remember who did I positively

affect by showing up? Who did I positively give something

to? So that's step one, staying focused on the positive even as you deal with the negative.

Number two is, did this person hit a personal wound? This is really key. And certainly

for me in the early days, this was something that

would have kind of saved me a lot of time. You know, there might be somebody saying,

oh, I don't like her hair, or don't really like what she's wearing, or don't really like

this topic. And all of that will go over your head. But the minute they say, I don't think
