choose the right seam finish for your project. We're going to cover seven different seam finishes,

when to use each one, and how Haley and I actually make these decisions in our own sewing.

so you can stop second-guessing yourself and start finishing those seams with confidence.

Haley, here's our icebreaker for today.

Tell me about a time when you looked inside a finished garment and were surprised, either impressed or horrified by what you saw.

I feel like this happens to me a lot when I'm thrifting, especially when I find homemade

garments that look fine from the outside.

And then I look at inside only to find there's zero finishing on any of the seams.

I am to the seam finish tolerant. I will take a pink seam. I will take what, you know, there's a time and a

place for every finish, except for no finish. Yeah. Maybe knits, I guess, would be the place.

Yeah.

But it's always a bummer because then I'm like, I'm not going to buy it because I don't want to fix the problem.

Yeah.

And I know that the garment won't have longevity for me.

Yeah, that's true.

Or you get all those, like, the threads.

Sensory nightmare.
