This is hell, which is exactly what appears to be happening

in Atlanta with the proposed Cops City Police Training Facility. Last week we spoke with historian Joe Goldie

about her Boston Review essay, The Earth for Man,

redistributing land, was once central

to global development efforts, and it should be today. The essay is adapted from

her most recent book The Long Land War, the Global Struggle for Occupancy Rights. In that

conversation Joe gave us a history that is often forgotten if not

intentionally erased and denied and that's the history of the United Nations

Food and Agriculture Organization which was putting people before profits, specifically peasant farmers over the entrance of markets and capital,

because of a 1943 famine in Bengal during British occupation,

and in the midst of the Second World War against German and Japanese imperialism

it had become clear to the world that no matter the Empire colonization and occupation were in

humane so they actually asked an occupation were in humane.

So they actually asked peasants what they wanted
