see real quickly how it connects with the whole prophetic movement. But I'd like to give you my

definition of apostles. This is really well researched in the heavy rain book. If you

are interested in cultural transformation at all, at least Bethel's style, that book is kind of full

of this kind of theology. So I'm going to, this is going to be an overview. I have just about

50, 60 minutes overview. So when I felt that I was supposed to do this message this afternoon,

when Jesus walked the earth, they were living under Roman rule. The Jews were living under Roman rule.

And it's interesting what happened when Jesus took his disciples, the word disciple means learner,

and he promoted them from learners to leaders. It's interesting what he named them because obviously

he could have, he could have named them patriarchs. There was 12 patriarchs in the Old Testament.

Obviously there was 12 apostles. He could have named them prophets. There was a whole school,

the prophets that began with Eli, the prophet, and at least went all the way through Elisha.

He could have called them priests. There was the whole Levitical Priestly order. But he chose

this word apostle. And it's interesting. The origin of this word and it's definition, I think,

is really profound. Now first of all, people ask the question, why were there no apostles in the

Old Testament? Well, one of the reasons why there was no apostles in the Old Testament is because

the word wasn't invented. It was, it wasn't invented till right before the book of Matthew actually,

before Matthew, the book of Matthew was written, about 300 years before Christ. And the Greeks

invented the word apostle. It very simply means to be sent. But it actually, in its definition,
