Do you ever crash after Christmas or even before Christmas? I definitely suffer from the Christmas crash, but we're going to talk about that today and ways to make sure that we don't get burnt out. Hey clutterbugs, welcome back to the clutterbug podcast.

I'm just gonna be honest with you.

Christmas stresses me out. It really does. And I love this time of year. It's my favorite holiday. I love all the memory and making moments. I love the, the coziness. I love the memory making moments. I love the the coziness. I love the decorating. I love getting together with loved ones. I love even giving gifts. Of course I love receiving gifts. I really do.

But I get something called the Christmas crash.

Usually this happens like right after Christmas

and the week between Christmas and New Year's instead of me being excited about the New Year and like all the possibilities to come and all the cool things I want to do. I feel like I struggle just to get out of bed and I don't think it's like that depression that comes after something really cool which I felt before, you know, you have your wedding or you go on vacation or you have a baby, you have like this really cool moment and there's kind of a let down after, that's not what I'm feeling. I think what I'm feeling is something really close to

burn out because in my life and I think you can probably relate, we're already very busy.

There's already a lot of balls that we're juggling and things going on on a regular basis.

And then during the holidays holidays we are adding on shopping for people and

wrapping gifts and we're cooking more than ever we're baking because it's like

we feel this pressure. We're entertaining. We're either having

people to our house or we're going to other people's houses or vice versa. We want to look festive.

I always try to plan a bunch of different activities during this time of year whether we're, I don't know, just like driving around and looking at Christmas lights or watching Christmas movies as a family. There is a lot of

pressure to make this awesome.

For my family, for myself,

I think like society puts pressure on us. And yeah, this year I'm like,

oh, I'm behind, I haven't sent out my Christmas cards yet.

There's just like, oh, you know what I'm saying?

And I think even if we do have really good boundaries, and I'm working really hard on this to say no to a lot of things and trying to simplify the holidays.

At the end of the day, it's more work. It just is. There's no way around it. We're decorating the house. We're putting up the treat. There is more work this time of year than any other time of year and it's rushed and it's hectic and the stores are full and we still have to buy for people and I already do enough.
