On Today's show, we interview Mayor Craig Thurmond as the Mayor of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

He is the mayor of one of the safest cities to live in in America,

and one of the fastest growing cities in America. But what would make this man

be willing to work for the low-low price of free?

I had an adopted daughter who was shot in the head and that's how I first got involved in the city government.

I went and lobbied for a bill over Oklahoma that we don't have an attempted murder law in Oklahoma,

we still don't.

And I went and lobbied for a bill that said that if you discharge a fire

and commission a felony you get 10 years mandatory.

Her shooter was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and he got two years

in prison for that two years two years and so that you know that's a felony

you assault someone that's a felony you do an armed robbery that's a felony so that

that's when I really thought that we need to make a difference we need to

really focus on public safety and we really have focused on public safety so

that's that's how I got involved I knew I can make a difference because I got a law

change that you really can fight City Hall. You really can get something done. So you just

have to have that that passion to be able to make a difference and I did have that and we were able to do it.

On today's show, the founder of the Hub Jim, Luke Owens, shares how Mayor Thurman helped to

save his business by revitalizing downtown and we share how Mayor Craig Thurmond

is helping to save lives as a result of the laws that he helped to pass. To make an
