It may seem like common sense, but the pandemic had a massive impact on our skin. We dealt with mascne to hair loss (your scalp *is* skin!); makeup took a backseat, and with so much time on our hands, we were able to think more about the efficacy of our own regimens and how impactful the ingredients we used were β for better our worse. We spent time wanting to restore our skin barrier and see resilience with our skin. Our haircare regimens became just as involved as our facial routine. And by watching ourselves day in and out on Zoom, we started taking note of all the treatments and surgeries being reviewed on TikTok. Plus, after years of doom and gloom, we wanted to feel more positive and happy versus bland and militant when it came to our skincare routine. Today, Kirbie is covering this topic based on the feature she wrote for Cosmo: "How the Pandemic Came For Your Skin." Spate co-founder Yarden Horwitz and Sula Labs founder AJ Addae were featured sources in the story and join her to discuss just how radically our routines were changed by the pandemic as well as how brands are adapting to these new trends.

0:38.6 | seeing in 2023 have a direct tie to something that happened during the pandemic. To some of you, |
0:45.3 | this may be obvious. Of course, the pandemic has influenced our skincare routines or how we're |
0:50.3 | marketed in skincare products. But I did find it fascinating that it all tied together very neatly in a beautiful little |
0:57.0 | bow. |

1:02.0 | We talk about five categories. |
1:04.0 | I wasn't able to get to everything that I wanted to include in this story. |
1:08.1 | It was about 5,000 words before they cut it down to 3,000. Notably, both |
1:12.2 | Trentonohan and sunscreen or SPF, two products or ingredients that proliferated during the |
1:18.3 | pandemic were not included in this piece because I couldn't fit them into a specific category. |
1:24.5 | So no, this is definitely not an exhaustive list. However, it is a list that is backed up |
1:29.2 | by data and that the sources, there were many of them that I interviewed, agreed, were the top-level |
1:36.1 | trends that we will continue to see throughout 2023. So we can dive right into this conversation. |
1:41.4 | I want to introduce our two sources. First, we have Yardin |
1:44.1 | Horowitz. She's the co-founder of Spate. Spate is very important to my job. I use it a lot. It is an |
