This episode is something a little bit different from our usual Politics Weekly podcast.

Normally I'm the one asking the questions, but recently I and my

son James were the subject of a different Guardian podcast, today in focus, in an episode about my

new book, Maybe I'm Amazed, which is all about autism and music and how songs opened up the

world for James and helped me connect with him. I chatted to Helen Pidd about all the things I've learned about the way some autistic people experience music

and what it's like raising an autistic child.

And she even came along to one of James' youth club sessions where he plays music with other autistic young people.

We wanted to share that episode with you, our Politics Weekly listeners, so here it is.

James was, it's about to turn three. We went to Pembroke Castle. I remember taking James to the top of one of the

towers, and as anyone would say, what can you see, James? Can you see all the little cars and the little people?

And in response, he was just reciting scripts from kids TV.

In a very sort of low whisper, he'd say, time for teletubbies, time for teletubes.
