Summary

Have you ever wanted to completely redirect your career path? For most of her life, Emily Groden was determined to follow in the footsteps of her parents and become a successful lawyer. It wasn’t until after Emily landed a job at the firm of her dreams that she realized she wasn’t pursuing her passion. After taking a chance on herself, Emily finally found true success. Today, she is the Founder and CEO of Evergreen, a company that happily provides families across the country with a natural option for frozen waffles.

For most of her life, Emily has been passionate about all things food. It wasn’t until she was a mom that Emily realized that quick-but healthy- breakfast options were not available. Unable to sacrifice quality and nutrition, Emily took matters into her own hands and created the Evergreen waffle. What initially started as a way to feed her family, quickly became a massive success on the national level. Today, Evergreen is located in more than 65 Whole Foods Markets and has plans to soon be on the shelves of a Sprout’s near you!

Tune into this episode of Dear FoundHer… to learn more about the importance of appealing packaging, testing your product, and continuing to learn as you grow so you can start a business that changes your life for the better.

Quotes

“I adapted where I needed to, but honestly, I  just figured it out as I went along.” (20:55-21:02)

“One thing you have to keep in mind is that most entrepreneurs don't really know how to do it when they start. You just have to be comfortable with the unknown and push forward.” (22:13-22:30)

“Limited resources and not necessarily being an expert in the area could actually be the birth of something really great, new, and exciting.” (24:08-24:18)

“Don’t stop learning at any point along the road because knowing and understanding the process can help you to scale up later. Don’t get complacent in the process. There is always more to learn.” (26:10-26:36)

“If you have an idea, just do it.  If you are excited about something try not to think about the obstacles and see the opportunity.” (45:00-45:10)
