0:53.8	I'm Julie Roy's, and there's no doubt that the Christian Church, or more specifically, the evangelical church, is going through one of the toughest seasons in her history. Megachurch pastors are resigning in disgrace, and mega churches are folding in the wake of scandals. And while some of this trouble can be chalked up to the
1:11.5	age-old temptations of money and sex, there's always this nagging issue of power. Power and the
1:18.2	abuse of power has been a recurrent theme in all of these recent scandals. And as I've broken these
1:23.6	stories about James McDonald or Todd Bentley or Bill Heibles, people who have been
1:28.2	victims of similar abusive leaders, they always reach out to me, they email me, or they message
1:33.2	me, and the abuse can happen in either a small church or a big church, but the dynamic is always
1:39.9	the same. Power-hungry pastors jockey to control their boards and their congregations, they take for
1:46.4	themselves instead of thinking about the people under them. People get hurt and the cause of Christ
1:52.0	is suffering. And you can't help but ask in the midst of all of this. Where is God? Jesus said,
1:58.8	whoever wants to be my disciple must deny himself and take up his cross
