Just after midnight on the 14th of June, the London Fire Brigade were called to what seemed like

a fairly routine household fire in a high-rise block of flats in

West London called Granville Tower. In the kitchen of a small apartment on the fourth floor,

a fridge was on fire. Firefighters put out the fridge within minutes but

unusually the fire had spread to the outside of the building.

Fifth, six, seven, eight, what order going up to you?

It's spreading across the side of the building.

With terrifying speed, the building was engulfed in flames.

Thanks to the heroism of the fire service and members of the public,

many were saved, but at least 79 people died.

The fire was so devastating that we may never know the real death toll.

It was so dark and so much smoke was there. There was people running down the stairs.
