Eddie joins us again on the podcast to discuss the ways in which pornography affects the consumer and their relationships.

In this episode, Eddie explains the difference between compulsion and addiction, how porn can negatively impact the consumer's emotional intelligence, how porn consumption can be symptomatic of a larger problem, and how porn impacts relationships, and can even lead to betrayal trauma for the consumer's partner.

Before we actually jump into like the meat of the interview, I think it'd be important for our audience to better understand who you are.

Can you introduce yourself, Eddie?

I'm a licensed professional counselor. I'm licensed

in two states, North Carolina, as well as in South Carolina. And I'm also a certified coach.

And basically, I certified in the area of problematic sexual addiction. I have a private practice with my wife,

Terry, in Highland, North Carolina, where I work exclusively with men who are dealing with porn

and sex addiction. I'm also an author. I've written three books. I have two others that are in the work.

Work with different organizations and writing for their blog. And I just have a group for being able to help people through this, you know, very troubling and destructive disorder that they're facing.

Right.

And you mentioned that you work exclusively with men, but I think it's safe to say,

maybe I'm wrong.

Tell me if I'm wrong, that a lot of the things we will talk about today,

they're applicable to both men and women.

Do you think that's true?

Oh, absolutely.
