of the Rand Café Anime Podcast sadly this episode is not gonna be a happy one because

we got some tragic news recently but we wanted this episode to be a tribute and a celebration

of an incredible mangaka and an incredible work and Nux is joining me as well today and

the masked man yo and we are talking about the tragic passing of Kentaro Mura who is the

author of Berserk and we just learned about this today as we're you know making this podcast

so we kind of last minute decided to do this topic we invited the masked man who is a Berserk

super fan and yeah we want to talk about you know what this means and just pay tribute to this

amazing series and mangaka yeah for those of you in chat Briggs is not around this week he

um he's competing in a apex legends twitch rivals tournament um you can check out his twitch at

Briggs ADA but uh so yeah basically Berserk's unbelievable and it changed my life and the life

of a lot of people and I feel like there are not a lot of mangaka that I could say that I feel

like I have a personal connection with like that I feel like I know them on a personal level like

I feel like I they they created great art for sure but I don't feel like I have a personal connection

with almost any mangaka like I do with Mura like I feel like he he expressed so much of himself

in his art and in the bleak world that he created that it feels like a personal loss which is why

I really wanted to do this episode today right and by the way guys if you want to express kind of your

respect and all that type of stuff you can use the hashtag thank you Mura which a lot of people

are using it across various social media platforms and from what we know I think he passed away

at the age of 54 very young and it was a heart related situation so just sudden and tragic man

yeah it's it was it was definitely a big shock and it's been in the forefront of my mind since

obviously I've been listening to like the guts theme on repeat you know like that ethereal song
