There are hundreds of them.

Actually, you know, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, it's not the first rebel group in the Southern Philippines, but it is the largest, the most politically astute.

And actually, they're now in government because they're basically running the autonomous region in Mindanao that also goes under the name Bangsamoro.

It's true that, you know, they've been fairly notorious in the past.

Like you had various accusations and associations of that group with, you know, actors in the international terrorism sphere.

But I think since the 2000s, the MLF basically decided

we need to negotiate with the government. And even though you had a lot of problems along the way,

since 2019, they're essentially running their semi-autonomous or autonomous actually region.

It is also true that some of their commanders, some of their members are obviously still struggling

to transition from rebel life to being a politician or civilian.

And there's still perhaps some people out there who are not

fully convinced by this opening towards peace. But I think all in all, it is a very interesting

example how a formerly militant jihadist group has really morphed towards peace, actually. But I think

it's very relevant to point out that as we speak, in a couple of months,

we'll have elections in this part of the Philippines.

And the question is always, if these guys are going to lose, what will happen next?

Do we have perhaps a splinter?

And maybe we'll have a true return to
