I am your host Heather and as always I'm super thrilled to be here with you.

Just in case you have missed my story, I'm just going to give you the short version really

quick.

I had struggled with obesity and weight issues when I was a small kid through high school,

did some radical things to lose weight while in high school that is unsustainable, got

to a healthy weight for me, then went to college, binged, put all that back on plus 90

more pounds.

In the 10 years between college and choosing to have my kids, I had gained quite a bit of

weight due to extreme diets and restriction and binge eating behaviors.

So after having my son in 2006 decided I wanted to get my weight under control over 300

pounds, which was the highest number I had ever seen.

And I went about it in a totally different way.

I focused on a maintenance mindset, which if you haven't heard episode 500, go back there,

you'll get all the good nuggets on that.

That basically really focused on only doing sustainable habit changes that I would keep

up with for the rest of my life.

Not necessarily saying I had to do all of them, but I was willing to, which is a big differential.

And over the course of five years and two more pregnancies, I lost 170 pounds.
