0:20.7	Thanks for having me here. Let's have some fun today. Yeah, thanks for coming on the show. I've been
0:24.6	trying to get you on for a while and finally got our schedules aligned. But really wanted to bring
0:29.2	Rod on because Rod is just a wealth of knowledge. And I think some of his experiences are going
0:34.7	to really really be helpful for a lot of the listeners to really kind of
0:37.8	understand the goods and bad. So can you kind of tell us a little bit about your background?
0:42.6	I immigrated this country. I have to go back quite a ways because it ties into what I want to
0:46.2	share today. I immigrated this country when I was six years old with my brother Albert, my mother's
0:51.2	Vanchi. I was born in the Netherlands and Holland. We ended up in
0:54.8	Denver, Colorado, and we struggled. We didn't have much growing up. I remember we ate day old food and
1:01.2	expired food and we drank powdered milk. And I remember literally wearing clothes from the Goodwill and the
1:07.0	Salvation Army all the way through junior high school to like get a job at Burger King when I was 14 and and buy my own clothes. Now, you may have listeners that have it harder than we did or
1:16.5	had it harder than we did and especially with this COVID nonsense. But I will tell you that I knew I
1:22.0	wanted more. And luckily, my mom had an incredible work ethic. So she babysat kids so we'd have enough money to eat.
1:29.2	And with her, and she was a bit of an entrepreneur as well.
1:31.6	And so with her babysitting money, she invested in the stock market and actually did quite
1:35.2	well.
1:36.2	And she also used that babysitting money to buy the house across the street from us when I was
1:39.6	14 for about $30,000.
1:42.8	And then when I was 17, she told me she'd made $20,000 in her sleep.
