It really was, Allison. And the way that there was just so much affirmation of what they

had done, they did not retreat to a corner. They really, which they would have been entitled

to. Sure. They were proactive and helpful. Still. Those parents are extraordinary. And

I've thought about them every single day since those conversations, which was now probably

two months ago, because of exactly what you're talking about. They were grief-stricken.

They are grief-stricken. Their grief hasn't really gone away. Maybe some days it's not

as raw as it was that first year. But they still have taken action. So they've been able

to in their lives. And I mean, obviously this is a lesson for all of us. Even with grief,

they've been able to move forward and hold those two things together. And they have made

remarkable changes, which we're going to talk about, where we are, really with gun violence

and school shootings in this country. And the stats are startling still. But yet, the

progress, there is forward motion. And that's something that I think, when you think about

reflect them 10 years, there is a tendency to almost want to avoid and not talk about

it, because you want to put your head in the sand and think this doesn't happen here,

but they refuse and all of our kids are safer. And yet, there's still work to be done.
