Hello there, I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast.

So in trying to unpack everything that we're dealing with today with Donald Trump and the

Republican Party, it might be fair to actually go back 20 years.

We happen to be at the 20th anniversary of the Iraq War, which is now widely regarded

as a failure of policy and of the intelligence agencies during the George W. Bush administration.

For some perspective, just so you know, in November of 2003, the NBC News Law

Street Journal poll indicated that 45% of Americans said that removing said I'm the same from power

was worth the casualties and costs.

Ten years after that, we asked that question, 26% agreed.

Let's just say I'm going to be intrigued by what that answer is when we go into the field

in about three weeks on the 20th anniversary of that.

But how far has the GOP moved since the party of George W. Bush became the party of Donald

Trump?

Americans are inching toward landmines and all sides.

They've just decided whether to take strong positions against they possibly soon to be

indicted, former president or court as voters.

While abortion battles, election lies and culture wars all hang in the air ahead of 2024.

I'm joined now by a couple of people who've been through the battles inside the GOP and

this, what you should say, an identity crisis that the party certainly has.
