Today I'm speaking to one of the most important and eloquent Western voices during this

hideous age of Israel's genocide of the Palestinian people.

He's the spokesperson for UNICEF, of course the world's leading children's charity.

He's been in Gaza repeatedly since this genocide began.

He's there now, and he has truly compelling, horrible stories that we need to hear about what Palestinians

in Gaza are going through. First thing I want to ask you, James, is, I mean, Israel imposed

a total siege on Gaza. That's just unambiguously true. They declared that on the 2nd of March

this year. And that was already in the context, obviously, of, well, I mean, there was a blockade on

Gaza before the 7th of October and since then, obviously repeated blocking of aid,

destruction of local food production and so on.

I mean, what was the impact?

What's been the impact of what was imposed on the 2nd of March?

Yeah, those three blockades now, one across the entire strip, two others, 75 to 90 days.

The impact is you've got a population on the edge of famine.

You've got hundreds of thousands of people, the very real risk of starvation.

Now, it's been done in a way that these blockades,

you know, remembering it's clearly a war crime to use weapon as to use food as a weapon of war.
